The Birmingham Schools of Sanctuary Network
We have a lively and flourishing network of around seventy schools, both secondary and primary, which are promoting welcome, inclusion and awareness of the problems faced by people seeking sanctuary. The network includes schools which have many asylum-seeking and refugee pupils, and others whose focus is on support and advocacy.
Our first School of Sanctuary Award was given in July 2014 and the number of awarded schools continues to grow. The list of the Schools of Sanctuary in the Birmingham network which have already received the Sanctuary Award can be found on the national website above. Below are links to schools which are using their websites to share their School of Sanctuary activities.
Contact [email protected] if you would like to know more, or if you would like your school to take part.
