Children from schools all over Birmingham came to the Library of Birmingham today to share their activities around the Nationality and Borders Bill (the “Anti-Refugee Bill”). They were welcomed by the Library staff and heard the story of an asylum-seeker before taking it in turn to tell what they had been doing for the campaign. The eventĀ was also attended by Cllr John Cotton, Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion and Equalities, who praised the children for their commitment and enthusiasm, and said that Birmingham is proud to have such young citizens, who give us hope for the future.
