St. Chad’s Sanctuary

St. Chad’s Sanctuary has been open since 2010 and helps refugees and asylum seekers in Birmingham and the surrounding areas. We offer a warm welcome and a friendly face to those in need.

Thanks to incredible volunteers and donors, we are able to provide a range of practical support including food parcels, hygiene products, clothing, kitchen & bedding items. Many of the people that we see are destitute without any other support.

We run English classes for over 100 students each week. We give welfare advice tackling problems with asylum support and housing and we give immigration advice: with all this we signpost people to other organisations where necessary.

Finally we have a weekly social to combat the isolation that many refugees and asylum seekers experience.

Volunteering

The Sanctuary needs all sorts of volunteers to help us succeed. We’re pretty sure that no matter what skills or time you have to donate, we can use what you have to offer.

Please visit the St Chad’s Sanctuary website to look at some of the volunteer roles available and find out how to apply.
