Join us and Peace Hub, for some short films exploring ‘Community as a Superpower’ (the theme of this years’ Refugee Week 16-22nd June).
We’ve selected films from a programme curated by Other Cinemas, and facilitated by Counterpoint Arts. These films invite us to celebrate the diverse way we build and sustain our communities: from our headline half-hour documentary Los Commandos about emergency responders in El Salvador supporting their communities in crisis; to some short drama and animation about the familiar smell and taste of home to bring comfort. We’ll also have speakers with lived experience of seeking refuge, and those who work to support them, to reflect on the films.
Entry is free (donations welcome). Doors open at 6:30pm, the films start at 7pm. Tea and coffee will be available in the atrium for £2.
