Over 60 ESOL volunteers gathered in Birmingham for a forum event to explore ways of increasing voluntary ESOL provision across the region and the UK by working more effectively together.  The aim being to see greater outcomes for refugees; more refugees in work, education and fulfilling their hopes and dreams.

Various sessions were organised by organisations from across the city such as Urban Devotion Birmingham, St Chad’s Sanctuary, Brushstrokes and Birmingham City University.  Volunteers had the opportunity to learn about family learning in ESOL, offering accredited courses and explore some of the challenges we face in the world of voluntary ESOL.
