Celebrating Sanctuary Birmingham  is working with two local artists to run a series of art workshops around the theme “We Are Birmingham 2022 – Celebrating Sanctuary” – to explore what Birmingham’s diversity and history of sanctuary means to its communities.

Sessions will be aimed at refugee and community groups across Birmingham, and work
will be created to exhibit in an online gallery. By the end of the workshops we aim to
have a collection of work which represents Birmingham communities, in particular those
who have arrived over the last 20 years, and how they feel about Birmingham and the
city’s diversity.

Sessions will run between September – December 2022 and will be free to participate in.
