This is a special concert given by the internationally renowned classical pianist, Margaret Fingerhut in support of Birmingham City of Sanctuary.
As her website points out, the history of classical music is full of composers who have had to leave their homelands for war, political upheaval or fear of persecution. The ‘Far from the Home I love’ concert tells the story of some of these composers through their music. Her programme includes works by Chopin, Grieg, Handel, Hadyn, Prokofiev and Rachmaninov and she has commissioned a new piece by Arian, the Kurdish Syrian Composer.
Tickets with a suggested donation of £10.00 are available from Eventbrite or on the day.
